Scheduling text messages
How do I schedule a text message to be sent later?
With Set Text Go, you write the message in the app, pick the date and time, choose which phone should receive it, and a real SMS is sent at that moment. It works for texts to yourself or to anyone else, and the recipient does not need the app. Setup takes about a minute; see how it works.
How do you send a daily text message automatically?
Create one reminder, set it to repeat daily at your chosen time, and it sends itself every day from then on, with no further effort. You can also limit it to weekdays or specific days. See our page on daily text reminders.
Can I schedule a recurring text message on iPhone or Android?
Yes, on both. Neither iPhone nor Android has a built-in way to send truly recurring texts. Set Text Go adds it to either platform: daily, weekly, monthly, or custom intervals like every 2 weeks, with exact weekday selection.
Can I text myself a reminder?
Yes, that is one of the most popular ways to use Set Text Go. Your reminder lands in your own text inbox, the one place you already check dozens of times a day. See schedule a text to yourself.
Will my reminder still send if my phone is off or has no service?
Yes. Reminders are sent by our servers, not by your phone. Your phone can be off, dead, in airplane mode, or out of service, and the text still goes out on schedule to the recipient.
Can I schedule a text from an iPhone to an Android phone?
Yes. Set Text Go sends standard SMS, which works across iPhone, Android, and basic phones alike. There is no blue bubble green bubble divide, because the text comes from our dedicated number over the regular phone network.
Set Text Go vs iMessage Send Later
How is this different from iMessage Send Later on iPhone?
iMessage Send Later schedules a message once, only between Apple devices over iMessage, and it sends from your phone. Set Text Go is different in four ways: reminders can repeat on a schedule, they reach any phone including Android and basic flip phones, they are sent by our servers so your phone can be off, and one reminder can go to several people at once. You can also edit or cancel everything in one place.
Do the texts come from my phone number?
No. Reminders come from a dedicated Set Text Go number, and always the same one, so you and your recipients learn to recognize it. Your first text tells you to save the number, and recipients keep simple reply commands to manage what they receive.
Getting started
What is Set Text Go?
Set Text Go is a reminder app that sends real SMS text messages. You set a reminder in the app, choose the time and who should receive it, and a true text is sent at the time you chose. Because it is a real text and not a push notification, it reaches almost any mobile phone, even without a smartphone, app, or internet on the other end.
How do I get started?
Download the free app on iOS or Android, create your account, and verify your own phone number with a quick code. Your first 3 credits are free, so you can send your first reminders without paying anything. See the how it works page for a full walkthrough.
Do I need a smartphone to use it?
You use the app on a smartphone to set up and manage your reminders. The people receiving the reminders do not need a smartphone at all, because the reminder is a normal text message.
How the texts work
Is this a push notification or a real text message?
It is a real text message. A push notification only works on a smartphone with the app installed and notifications enabled. Set Text Go sends a true SMS over the phone network, so it works on basic phones and without wifi or data on the recipient's side. You can read a full comparison on our SMS versus push notifications page.
Does the person receiving the reminder need the app?
No. Only you use the app to create reminders. The person receiving the text does not need the app, an account, or a smartphone. Any phone that can receive a text will get the reminder, including a basic flip phone.
Will reminders reach a phone without internet on the other end?
Yes. Because the reminder is a true text message, it does not rely on wifi or mobile data on the recipient's side. It is a real text, the same kind you get from a friend.
Recipients and phone numbers
Can I send reminders to other people, not just myself?
Yes. You can send reminders to yourself, to family, to friends, or to a loved one such as an elder. It is a simple way to help someone stay on top of medication or appointments, even if they do not use apps.
Can I remind more than one person at a time?
Yes. Set Text Go supports multiple recipients, so you can send the same reminder to several people at once and keep family and friends on the same page.
Can I add more than one phone number to my account?
Yes, up to 10 numbers on one account, each with its own nickname, like Mom, Work, or a second phone of your own. Your primary number is the one that receives account notices, such as a heads-up when your credits run low, and you can change which number is primary in the app at any time.
Scheduling and editing
Can I set recurring reminders?
Yes. You can schedule a one time reminder or set daily, weekly, or monthly recurring texts for things like medication, bills, and appointments. You choose the exact time, the time zone, the days of the week, and even what happens on weekends.
Can I edit or cancel a reminder after I create it?
Yes. Reminders can be edited at any time. Change the message, adjust the time, update a recurring schedule, pause, resume, or cancel whenever you need to, and the next send follows your latest version.
Credits and pricing
How much does Set Text Go cost?
The app is free to download and your first 3 credits are free. After that you pay as you go with credits, with no subscription, and each reminder uses credits when it is sent. Credits do not expire. The current prices are shown in the app, and you can read more on the pricing page.
Is there a subscription or monthly fee?
No. Set Text Go is pay as you go. There is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel. You only pay for the reminders you send.
How do referrals work?
Share Set Text Go with someone from the app, and when they join, you each get 5 free credits. There is no limit to kindness, though referral rewards do have sensible daily limits.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Your scheduled reminders pause rather than send, and nothing is lost. Before that happens we send you a heads-up by email and by text to your primary phone number, and the moment you top up, everything resumes on schedule. Credits never expire, so there is no pressure to use them quickly.
